Eric Graham – Choral/Vocal Music DirectorEric bio pic

Eric is in his 11th year as the Director of Choral and Vocal Music at Marina High School where he directs the Viking Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Valkyrie Women’s Ensemble, Norseman Choir and the Siren Chorus. Under his direction the program has grown to include 150 singers, 7 choirs and various small singing groups. Eric received his Bachelor’s Degree in Choral-Vocal Music from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach. He is currently working on his Masters of Music in Choral Conducting at California State University, Fullerton where he is the Assistant Conductor of the Titan Men’s Chorus and the Tenor Section Leader of the University Singers. He was recently recognized as one of the California League of High Schools Region 11 Educators of the Year. In the summers, Mr. Graham is on the choral faculty at Arrowbear Music Camp. He has studied conducting with Dr. Jonathan Talberg and Dr. Robert Istad, and voice with Dr. Katharin Rundus, Patricia Prunty and Robin Buck.

In addition to his classroom responsibilities, he also is the Producer and Music Director of Marina’s annual spring musical. Past productions include: Once Upon a Mattress (2009), The Pajama Game (2010), Guys and Dolls (2011), Anything Goes (2012), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2013), Crazy For You (2014), Thoroughly Modern Millie (2015) and Bye Bye Birdie (2016). The shows under Eric’s leadership have been nominated for several awards by the Jerry Herman Awards and John Raitt Awards for Youth including: Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Male Lead, Outstanding Female Lead, Outstanding Costumes (Winner) and Outstanding Set Construction.

Some of his most memorable musical moments were conducting the Marina choirs in Carnegie Hall and St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and singing under the baton of John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl. He also enjoys performing as a soloist and has been seen in various musical productions throughout Southern California.  Some of his performance highlights include Mickey in Babes In Arms, Matt in The Fantastiks, The Music Man (ensemble), Luntha in The King and I, Closer Than Ever, Dido and Aenaes (ensemble), The Marriage of Figaro (ensemble), and The Beach Cabaret as a featured soloist.
